Dental Emergencies are usually relief of acute pain, emergency root canal treatment or an extraction. In some circumstances, a script may be all you will need.

Oral Surgery and Extractions
Dr Loy has extensive experience and a very special interest in Oral Surgery. However, in the performance of oral surgical cases, the Caring 4 Smiles® Team do not believe in choosing extractions and surgery as a first option in care. For us, it is the absolute last resort.

We are constantly moving patients away from losing natural teeth because the cost of replacement is high and nothing comes close to the 'real tooth'.

Root Canal Therapy
Also known as Endodontics, Root Canal Therapy is designed to save infected teeth. The purpose of this treatment is to conserve a tooth that has been damaged by decay, fracture or an abscess and normal restorative procedures are no longer possible.

Symptoms of dental nerve damage are:

• Lingering tooth sensitivity to hot or cold liquids
• Tooth sensitivity to sweets
• Tooth pain to biting pressure
• Impulsive, constant or intermittent tooth pain
• Severe throbbing tooth pain
• Swollen face
• Tooth pain that may occur in response to atmospheric pressure changes such as when flying or scuba diving
